A Different Kind of Problem

If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place

You used to know how to lose weight. Eat a little less, move a little more — done. Then perimenopause arrived and the old rules stopped working. The scale won't move. You're exhausted but not sleeping. Your mood, your energy, and your waistline all feel like they belong to someone else. And when you ask for help, you hear "your bloodwork is normal" and "just eat less and exercise more." You're not imagining it, and you're not doing it wrong. Your body has changed — so your approach has to change with it.

Before Perimenopause: Worked then
Eat less, cut calories

A younger metabolism responded quickly to a calorie deficit, so eating less reliably moved the scale

Do more cardio

Long runs or cardio sessions burned enough to create steady weight loss

Skip meals or cut carbs hard

Quick restriction gave fast results without much cost to energy or mood

Crash or fad diets

The body bounced back easily, so a short aggressive diet dropped weight fast

One size fits all plans

Generic programmes worked because hormones were stable and predictable

After Perimenopause:
Stalls Now
Eat less, cut calories

Cutting too low reads as a stressor, slowing metabolism and raising stress hormones, so the body holds onto fat instead of releasing it

Do more cardio

Extra cardio piles stress on a body already taxed by hormonal change and poor sleep, raising stress hormones and costing more in fatigue than it returns

Skip meals or cut carbs hard

Aggressive restriction worsens energy crashes, broken sleep, cravings, and mood swings, so the plan becomes impossible to sustain

Crash or fad diets

The body is now primed to protect itself, so it holds on more stubbornly and the weight returns faster, sometimes higher than before

One size fits all plans

Stable hormones made generic plans work before, now the body changes month to month, so the plan has to fit this body, this stage, this life

If any of this sounds like your last two years, you're not imagining it.

Woman in a grey shirt facing the sea

Nothing You Do Moves the Scale

You've cut the wine, added the walks, you're eating less than you have in years. And the scale won't budge — or it's creeping up. The jeans that fit last spring won't do up, and the weight has settled around your middle in a way it never used to. You're doing everything that used to work, and your body is acting like you're not.

Woman sitting on a white bed while stretching

Tired in a Way Sleep Won't Fix

You wake at 3am wired, heart going, and lie there until the alarm. Coffee stopped touching it. By mid-afternoon you're running on fumes, and the workouts that used to lift you now flatten you for the rest of the day. It isn't laziness. Your body genuinely doesn't have the same reserves it used to — and pushing harder only digs the hole deeper.

Woman standing beside water and mountains

You've Been Told You're Fine

Your labs came back "normal." You were handed a prescription, or told to lose a bit of weight and manage your stress. So you've started to wonder if it's in your head — if this is just what your forties are, and you should quietly get on with it. You're not making it up. "Normal" on a standard panel and actually feeling well are not the same thing.

Woman with eyes closed embracing herself in forest

You Don't Feel Like Yourself

You snap at the kids over nothing and hate yourself an hour later. You walk into rooms and forget why. You've cancelled plans because you didn't feel up to being seen. Somewhere in the last couple of years the woman you recognize got quieter — and you've been telling yourself she'll come back on her own.

Perimenopausal weight loss isn't one problem. It's two.

There's what you do — the food, the movement, the plan. That's the part every program hands you. And there's what's happening underneath — your hormonal rhythm, your inflammation, your gut health. That's the part that decides whether any of it works. Most programs only touch the first. That's why you can do everything right and the scale still won't move. We start with the second.

Step 1 Investigate

two woman sitting on beach sand while facing sunlight

Before we change your food or training, we study what's actually driving your symptoms: your hormonal patterns, the depth of your inflammation, and signs of poor gut health. The layer generic programs skip.

Step 2 Personalize

woman in white dress shirt holding stainless steel cooking pot

Once we understand your system, we build nutrition and movement around it — your real life, your schedule, your tastes. This is why we don't hand out meal plans. Your plan comes from your data, not a PDF.

Step 3 Optimize

a man and woman kissing

Now the work pays off. When your hormones, inflammation, and gut are supported, the same food and movement finally produce results — because your body can use them. We adjust as you respond, so progress keeps moving.

Step 4 Sustain

a woman standing in a field holding her arms up

The goal was never another six weeks of white-knuckling. It's a way of eating and living that holds — one that keeps adjusting as your body changes, so the results stay long after the program ends.

Meet Ann

Built for women, by women who have lived it.

I spent years as an emergency and trauma nurse, learning to read the whole person fast and act on what actually matters. After watching too many women, including myself, get dismissed when their bodies changed in midlife, I built this to give women in perimenopause the support the system does not. I combine a clinical background with practical, sustainable coaching, no fads, no shame, just a clear plan and someone in your corner who understands both the science and the daily reality of it.

You are never working alone, and you are never reduced to a number. Alongside Ann, you are supported by a team of certified coaches who share one belief, that women deserve care that actually sees them. Not just their symptoms, but their whole story, their stage of life, and the version of well they are working toward. Every plan is personal, and every woman is understood.

What It’s Like to Work Together

In their words: what changes when you finally feel understood.

"I definitely feel like I have more energy in the day, especially the evenings! And I feel better about myself. I have lost 10 lbs since starting with you, and I have been eating so much, and haven't worked out once."

"Hi Ann, wearing pants I haven't fit in for at least 5 years! I have one more pair of "they'll fit me when I lose the weight" pants left, and then I'll have to go shopping."

"Over the past few weeks my weight has finally started moving in a way it never has before. I was stuck for so long no matter what I did, and now it is coming down steadily, week after week. What surprises me is that even when I couldn't do much, the weight still shifted. I am actually eating more now than I did three months ago, and still losing. My energy is coming back, and I am able to cook my own meals again, which feels like a real victory.
My family has started noticing the change too. They joke that I must be doing some kind of magic, because I am eating more, looking healthier and leaner, and still losing weight.
Ann, thank you so much for everything, for guiding me, supporting me, and being part of this transformation. You and Anoop have helped me get back pieces of myself I thought I had lost. These days I actually enjoy looking at myself in the mirror, and that feeling means more than words can say."

"I just had a big event for my housewarming and couldn't believe how slim I looked in the pics. My tummy was looking flat in the saree, and you know how that can show. My husband is starting to follow the same nutrition as me, and he's slimmed down too."

"The guidance, support and accountability I have received so far have helped me stay consistent and push beyond my limits. This journey isn't just about weight loss, it's about becoming stronger, more confident, and more connected to my body and mind. I am learning to make better food choices, enjoy my workouts, and most importantly, believe in myself again. Grateful for the process and the amazing team walking alongside me."

"Hi Ann! I want to share 3 major wins: I feel very good at my energy levels, to be honest. My procrastination has reduced almost 80%, and I am now regular with my workouts. Nutrition wise, I am learning a lot about how to eat and what to eat."

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Reach out. We're always happy to talk through whether this is the right fit for you.

Is this medical treatment?

No. AnnTom Fitness is a coaching and education program focused on nutrition, lifestyle, and sustainable habits. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace care from your doctor. We're happy to work alongside your healthcare providers.

Do I have to give up the foods I love?

No. Restrictive, all-or-nothing diets are exactly why most plans fail in perimenopause. We build something realistic around your actual life.

How much time does it take each week?

Less than you'd think. The goal is to fit your life, not take it over.

I've tried everything. Why would this be different?

Because it starts with your body and this specific life stage, and because you get ongoing support and adjustments instead of a one-size-fits-all plan you're left to follow alone.

How do I start?

Book a free call. We'll talk through where you are and whether this is the right fit — no pressure.
